Road Projects for the Week of July 17 - 23
228th Avenue Curb Ramp Retrofit and Catch Basin Repairs (Important Project Update)
The City of Sammamish’s contractor will continue work on 228th Avenue to retrofit curb ramps, install concrete catch basin aprons and install irrigation sleeve crossings from SE 8th St to NE 8th St. The contractor is in the process of excavating curb ramps and prepping for concrete pouring. Only one corner of an intersection will be impacted per intersection. This work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Typical lane closure hours through the work zone will be between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Traffic will be merged to one lane through the work zone and steel plates are anticipated to be on the roadway overnight.
Important Project Update:

This traffic signal will be turned off during the work and a uniformed police office will direct traffic through the intersection. The signal is expected to be off from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
King County will replace 21 existing crosswalks throughout Sammamish over the next week. While the thermoplastic striping typically cures in an hour or so, there may be short traffic delays.
