Road Projects for the Week of September 18-24

Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project Construction

Road Closure on East Lake Sammamish Parkway: East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek (located approximately at 125 E Lake Samm Pkwy) is OPEN! The weather cooperated on Wednesday which allowed paving to be completed as scheduled.

The remaining work on the project includes finalizing the creek alignment, installing fencing, landscaping, and utility reconnections. Please visit the project page on Connect Sammamish for the latest updates.


Beaver Lake Triathlon

The Beaver Lake Triathlon will be held on Sunday, September 19. The race takes place from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

There will be no road closures associated with the Triathlon. During the race there will be a flagger or police officer directing traffic at:

  • The roundabout at SE 32nd St and SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd next to Shoofly Farm.
  • The traffic signal at SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd and SE Duthie Hill Rd
  • The traffic signal at SE Duthie Hill Rd and 275th Ave SE

Upcoming Fall Construction-related Traffic Impacts

Lane closure on 228th Ave SE between SE 4th Street and Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd: Southbound curb lane to be closed 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM between September and November 2021 and may change pending further coordination with all parties. Comcast is installing new fiber optic cable for Issaquah School District’s new elementary school on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd at SE 44th Street. It is highly recommended to find an alternative route during this project’s construction.

Tree Trimming Delays and Caution While Driving

Asplundh, a tree trimming sub-contractor for PSE, is currently trimming trees around poles and wires in the Sammamish. Asplundh will be doing work on 220th Ave SE and SE 4th St today. Work will occur for 3 hours between 7:00 AM -4:00 PM. More work will occur throughout the City for the next two weeks and will be included in the Cone Zone as more information is obtained. Please expect delays and use caution while driving through in the work areas.

New Traffic Signal on Issaquah-Pine Lake Road and SE 44th Street

The new traffic signal on Issaquah-Pine Lake Road and SE 44th Street is operational and serving Issaquah School District's Cedar Trails Elementary School.


228th Avenue Curb Ramp Retrofit and Catch Basin Repairs

The City of Sammamish’s contractor is entering substantial completion on the project with only push list items remaining. Only minimal roadway impacts are anticipated for the remainder of work. The project’s curb ramp work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Traffic closure hours have been tightened through the work zone to 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with traffic merged to one lane.


Comcast Utility Work at NE 36th Street on East Lake Sammamish Parkway

Comcast utility line work will take place from NE 36th Street vicinity along East Lake Sammamish Parkway NE to SE 4th Street on 228th Avenue SE (via Inglewood Hill Road NE). Comcast will commence this work within the next week.


East Lake Sammamish Trail South Segment B Stage 1 Construction

The King County East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) South Segment B Phase 1 continues with construction. There will be traffic impacts related to the closure of the gravel surface trail segment which causes the re-routing of cyclists and pedestrians to East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP). Additionally, there will be construction traffic on ELSP.

  • Project Start Point: Intersection of SE 33rd / East Lake Sammamish Shore Lane Drive SE
  • Project End Point: Approximately 900' south of the intersection of SE 8th Street / East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE


Issaquah-Fall City Road

Grass mowing by a new contractor is scheduled in the next couple weeks to clean up overgrown areas. PSE crews have a couple repair locations in sidewalks before those areas may be finished in concrete. Other incidental plantings are planned for October.


Notices for construction activity outside of the City of Sammamish:

Issaquah Highlands Drive Upcoming

This is a City of Issaquah project. Night work on Issaquah Highlands Drive will start Monday, September 13 and run for approximately three weeks. Work crews will complete the construction of a water main from 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m. During these working hours, one lane southbound will be open to traffic, and there is no impact to northbound traffic.


Downtown Redmond Link Extension (DRLE) - Sound Transit work
