    Lane closure on 228th Ave SE between SE 4th Street and Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd: Southbound curb lane to be closed 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. between September and November 2021 and may change pending further coordination with all parties. Comcast is installing new fiber optic cable for Issaquah School District’s new school, Cedar Trails Elementary, on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd and SE 44th Street.

    Lane closure on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd between 228th Ave SE and Issaquah-Fall City Rd. and SE 44th Street: Southbound lane closure from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. between September and November 2021 and may change pending further coordination with all parties. There will be work on Saturday, October 16 and Saturday, October 23 in addition to the weekday closures. Comcast is installing new fiber optic cable for Issaquah School District's new elementary school on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd at SE 43rd Street.


    Crosswalk Flasher Foundation Installation at Sammamish Landing

    On Monday, November 1, our contractor will install a foundation for the crosswalk flasher in the center island at Sammamish Landing. Only minimal traffic impacts are expected because crews are anticipated to work within the footprint of the center island.


    East Lake Sammamish Trail South Segment B Stage 1 Construction

    The King County East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) South Segment B Phase 1 continues with construction. There will be traffic impacts related to the closure of the gravel surface trail segment which causes the re-routing of cyclists and pedestrians to East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP). Additionally, there will be construction traffic on ELSP.

    • Project Start Point: Intersection of SE 33rd / East Lake Sammamish Shore Lane Drive SE
    • Project End Point: Approximately 900' south of the intersection of SE 8th Street / East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE


    Issaquah-Fall City Road

    Grass mowing by a new contractor is scheduled in the next couple weeks to clean up overgrown areas. PSE crews have a couple repair locations on sidewalks before those areas may be finished in concrete. Other incidental plantings are planned for October.

    Pavement Coring

    The City of Sammamish’s geotechnical engineering consultant will be coring streets in preparation for road resurfacing in 2022. Work is expected to occur between October 25th and November 3rd, but impacts are only expected for 2-3 days per location. The locations and anticipated impacts are:

    • 228th Avenue between SE 8th St and NE 8th St: Directional traffic will be reduced to 1 lane around the work zone between 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The work schedule is dependent upon progress earlier in the week, but work is expected to occur between 10/28 and 11/3.
    • 244th Pl SE / 246th Avenue SE / 247th Pl SE between Klahanie Blvd and IFCR: Two lanes of traffic are expected to remain open around the work at all times. Work is anticipated from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. between 10/25 and 10/29.
    • Klahanie Drive SE between IFCR and 252nd Ave SE: Directional traffic will be reduced to 1 lane around the work zone. Work is anticipated from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. between 10/25 and 10/29.

The project’s curb ramp work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Traffic closure hours have been tightened through the work zone to 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with traffic merged to one lane.

    Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project Construction

    Project construction is complete! Only minor corrections remain, so this is the last project update. There will be periodic single lane closures until utility reconnections are complete.     Asplundh, a tree trimming sub-contractor for PSE, is currently trimming trees around poles and wires in the Sammamish. Work will occur for 3 hours between 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. More work will occur throughout the City for the next two weeks and will be included in the Cone Zone as more information is obtained. Please expect delays and use caution while driving through in the work areas.

    Beaver Lake Triathlon

    The Beaver Lake Triathlon will be held on Sunday, September 19. The race takes place from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

    There will be no road closures associated with the Triathlon. During the race there will be a flagger or police officer directing traffic at:

    • The roundabout at SE 32nd St and SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd next to Shoofly Farm.
    • The traffic signal at SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd and SE Duthie Hill Rd
    • The traffic signal at SE Duthie Hill Rd and 275th Ave SE

    Issaquah-Fall City Road

    Grass mowing by a new contractor is scheduled in the next couple weeks to clean up overgrown areas. PSE crews have a couple repair locations in sidewalks before those areas may be finished in concrete. Other incidental plantings are planned for October.

    Road Closure on East Lake Sammamish Parkway: Starting August 16 East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek (located approximately at 125 E Lake Samm Pkwy) CLOSED to thru traffic for the Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project. Bicyclists and pedestrians can detour around the closure using the East Lake Sammamish Regional Trail. The road is scheduled to reopen the afternoon of 9/16.

    Local access north and south of the closure area will be maintained, however thru traffic will not be permitted. The closure allows for completion of the new water and sewer systems, installation of the box culvert, and rebuilding the road. Additional notifications and message boards are posted and a signed detour is in place. Drivers should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.

    The City of Sammamish’s contractor is entering substantial completion on the project with only push list items remaining. Only minimal roadway impacts are anticipated for the remainder of work. The project’s curb ramp work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Traffic closure hours have been tightened through the work zone to 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with traffic merged to one lane.


    Comcast Utility Work at NE 36th Street on East Lake Sammamish Parkway

    Comcast utility line work will take place from NE 36th Street vicinity along East Lake Sammamish Parkway NE to SE 4th Street on 228th Avenue SE (via Inglewood Hill Road NE). Comcast will commence this work within the next week.


    East Lake Sammamish Trail South Segment B Stage 1 Construction

    The King County East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) South Segment B Phase 1 continues with construction. There will be traffic impacts related to the closure of the gravel surface trail segment which causes the re-routing of cyclists and pedestrians to East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP). Additionally, there will be construction traffic on ELSP.

    • Project Start Point: Intersection of SE 33rd / East Lake Sammamish Shore Lane Drive SE
    • Project End Point: Approximately 900' south of the intersection of SE 8th Street / East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE


    Paving on 209th Ave SE and SE 24th Street

    An asphalt contractor will be paving on 209th Avenue SE and SE 24th Street on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10. This work will take place between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. It is for a new development called Tridco.

    Only minor work items remain, and utility work in a few areas. Lumen is raising a utility vault in the sidewalk near the Issaquah Montessori School and will install a temporary walkable surface in time for opening of school.

    Due to limited access during the East Lake Sammamish Parkway closure, Republic Services will begin garbage, yard waste, and recycling collection at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, the regular collection day for homes adjacent to the closure. Impacted homes will be receiving calls from Republic on 8/23 and 8/30 as a reminder before pick-up. We ask homes that receive a call to please have your carts out by 6:00 a.m. on August 24 and 31.

    Construction along Issaquah-Pine Lake Road between SE Klahanie Blvd and 238th Way SE: Construction activities continue along Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd between SE Klahanie Blvd and 238th Way SE. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes around the construction zone. Construction work involves constructing a new entrance, signal, and frontage improvements for ISD’s new elementary school #16 at SE 44th Street. Work will make it necessary to occasionally divert traffic around work zones however two lanes of traffic will be maintained. This is expected to last through September 2021.

    The City of Sammamish’s contractor has finished catch basin adjustment work and will be cleaning out catch basins in the corridor. On Thursday, 9/2, traffic signal loop installation work will happen in the westbound lanes of NE 8th St at the 228th Avenue NE. The electrical subcontractor is expected to continue push button/traffic signal work on 8/30, which will involve turning off traffic signals from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. on Mon and 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tues/Wed. Police Officers will be on site to direct traffic through the intersections. See schedule below. The project’s curb ramp work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
