Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project Construction
Road Closure on East Lake Sammamish Parkway: Starting August 16th at 7:00 AM there will be a minimum 3-week closure of East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek (located approximately at 125 E Lake Samm Pkwy) for the Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project.
In order to ensure the road closure and construction will be completed within the planned schedule, the City has granted the contractor permission for extended working hours. The contractor plans to work 7am – 7pm on Thursday, August 19th through Sunday, August 22nd.
Local access north and south of the closure area will be maintained, however thru traffic will not be permitted. Bicyclists and pedestrians can use the East Lake Sammamish Regional Trail to detour around the closure. The closure will allow for completion of the new water and sewer systems, installation of the box culvert, and rebuilding the road. Additional notifications and message boards are posted and a signed detour is in place. Drivers should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.
Due to limited access during the East Lake Sammamish Parkway closure, Republic Services will begin garbage, yard waste, and recycling collection at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, the regular collection day for homes adjacent to the closure. Impacted homes will be receiving calls from Republic on 8/23 and 8/30 as a reminder before pick-up. We ask homes that receive a call to please have your carts out by 6:00 a.m. on August 24th and 31st.

Construction along Issaquah-Pine Lake Road between SE Klahanie Blvd and 238th Way SE: Construction activities continue along Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd between SE Klahanie Blvd and 238th Way SE. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes around the construction zone. Construction work involves constructing a new entrance, signal, and frontage improvements for ISD’s new elementary school #16 at SE 44th Street. Work will make it necessary to occasionally divert traffic around work zones however two lanes of traffic will be maintained. This is expected to last through September 2021.

- The Klahanie Mountainview Pool (4280 Klahanie Drive SE);
- Klahanie Park (25000 SE Klahanie Boulevard);
- Beaver Lake Middle School (25025 SE 32nd Street);
- SE 30th Street between 247th Avenue SE and 249th Avenue SE;
- SE 28th Place, adjacent to and south of Beaver Lake Park; and
- SE 24th Street between 245th Avenue SE and 246th Avenue SE.
All of these areas will have traffic control with minor delays when wire is being pulled.
228th Avenue Curb Ramp Retrofit and Catch Basin Repairs
The City of Sammamish’s contractor will continue repairing manholes in the travel lanes. The electrical subcontractor is expected to begin push button/traffic signal work on 8/25, which will involve turning off traffic signals from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Police Officers will be on site to direct traffic through the intersections. See schedule below. The project’s curb ramp work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Typical lane closure hours through the work zone will be between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with traffic merged to one lane.

Comcast Utility Work at NE 36th Street on East Lake Sammamish Parkway
Comcast utility line work will take place from NE 36th Street vicinity along East Lake Sammamish Parkway NE to SE 4th Street on 228th Avenue SE (via Inglewood Hill Road NE). Comcast will commence this work within the next week.
East Lake Sammamish Trail South Segment B Stage 1 Construction
The King County East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) South Segment B Phase 1 continues with construction. There will be traffic impacts related to the closure of the gravel surface trail segment which causes the re-routing of cyclists and pedestrians to East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP). Additionally, there will be construction traffic on ELSP.
- Project Start Point: Intersection of SE 33rd / East Lake Sammamish Shore Lane Drive SE
- Project End Point: Approximately 900' south of the intersection of SE 8th Street / East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE
Paving on 244th Ave NE
An asphalt contractor will be paving on 244th Avenue NE between NE 18th Street and NE 20th Street on Wednesday August 25th. This work will start at 9:00 AM with some minor delays and traffic control present. The location of this work is across the street from the City's Maintenance and Operations Center (MOC).
Issaquah-Fall City Road
Only minor work items remain, and utility work in a few areas. Lumen is raising a utility vault in the sidewalk near the Issaquah Montessori School and will install a temporary walkable surface in time for opening of school.

Utility Work on Issaquah-Pine Lake Road
On Friday, July 25th Puget Sound Energy will be working on a power pole, closing the southbound lane and alternating traffic through the work zone on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd just north of the SE 32nd Way and the Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd roundabout. The closure will be from approximately 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM with traffic control through the work zone.
Crosswalk Restriping
King County will replace 21 existing crosswalks throughout Sammamish over the next week. While the thermoplastic striping typically cures in an hour or so, there may be short traffic delays.

Starting around late August there will be up to a 3 week closure of East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek to allow for installation of the box culvert. Issaquah-Fall City Road
The closure between 247th Place SE and Klahanie Dr. SE opened on April 16, 2021. There are many people, businesses and organizations to thank and acknowledge. Take a look at the ceremonial ribbon cutting video(External link)(External link) with community acknowledgements. *Safety Reminder – Please observe the contractor’s “Sidewalk Closed” and “No Trespassing” signs at all times.
- The Contractor returned on June 15th to begin the excavation for the stream mitigation work. Stream work will continue for the next few weeks. Limited traffic delays are anticipated.

The City of Sammamish’s contractor will continue work on 228th Avenue to retrofit curb ramps, install concrete catch basin aprons and install irrigation sleeve crossings from SE 8th St to NE 8th St. The contractor is in the process of excavating curb ramps and prepping for concrete pouring. Only one corner of an intersection will be impacted per intersection. This work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Typical lane closure hours through the work zone will be between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Traffic will be merged to one lane through the work zone and steel plates are anticipated to be on the roadway overnight.
Important Project Update:
On Tuesday, July 20th, the contractor will be relocating a signal junction box at the intersection of NE 4th St and 228th Ave NE. This traffic signal will be turned off during the work and a uniformed police office will direct traffic through the intersection. The signal is expected to be off from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

On Monday June 21st, work will be taking place on an asphalt patch for a gas line that was re-routed at the intersection of 228th Avenue NE and NE 8th Street. The work will occur between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm during which time a police officer will be directing traffic in the intersection.
208th Ave SE and SE 24th Street - Tridco Subdivision
A contractor will be installing utilities between Monday June 21st and Wednesday June 30th at 208th Ave SE and SE 24th Street. One lane will be closed between 9:00am and 3:00pm each day of the installation. Variable message boards will continue to be on-site alerting motorists to the revisions.

Traffic lane revisions and possible lane closures along the west side of Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd in the vicinity of SE 44th Street: Work hours 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM between July and September 2021. Issaquah School District’s contractor will be constructing a new entrance for the new elementary school. Work includes but is not limited to new curb, gutter, sidewalk, storm system, traffic lanes(s), traffic signal, street lighting and landscaping. Finding alternative routes are highly recommended during this project.
East Lake Sammamish Trail South Segment B Stage 1 Construction
The King County East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) South Segment B Phase 1 will begin construction in June. Work will be slowly starting up in the second half of June starting with survey work and construction fencing.
There will be traffic impacts related to the closure of the gravel surface trail segment which causes the re-routing of cyclists and pedestrians to East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP). Additionally, there will be construction traffic on ELSP.

Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project Construction starting in June
Utility relocation for this project started in June. The City has been coordinating with Comcast, PSE, and Ziply to relocate their facilities in advance of the culvert installation. Tentatively, the City’s contractor will mobilize beginning in July. Most of the work is anticipated to be complete by September 2021. During construction, drivers can expect intermittent lane closures to allow for utility relocation and site preparation. Later this summer there will be up to a 3 week closure of East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek to allow for installation of the box culvert. 228th Avenue Curb Ramp Retrofit and Catch Basin Repairs
The City of Sammamish’s contractor will continue work on 228th Avenue to retrofit curb ramps, install concrete catch basin aprons and install irrigation sleeve crossings from SE 8th St to NE 8th St. The contractor is in the process of repairing catch basins and installing concrete aprons around the frames for both the northbound lanes of traffic. This work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Lane closure hours through the work zone will be between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Traffic will be merged to one lane through the work zone and steel plates are anticipated to be on the roadway overnight.
Issaquah-Fall City Road
The closure between 247th Place SE and Klahanie Dr. SE opened on April 16, 2021. There are many people, businesses and organizations to thank and acknowledge. - The Contractor returned on June 15th to begin the excavation for the stream mitigation work. Stream work will continue for the next few weeks. Limited traffic delays are anticipated.
- PSE will be adjusting gas valves through the project limits. Traffic will be directionally reduced to one lane through their work zone.

Improvements at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SE 43rd Way Roundabout
This is a City of Issaquah project. The City of Issaquah is planning summer road improvements work at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SE 43rd Way Roundabout.
