    Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project Construction

    Road Closure on East Lake Sammamish Parkway: East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek (located approximately at 125 E Lake Samm Pkwy) is OPEN! The weather cooperated on Wednesday which allowed paving to be completed as scheduled.

    The remaining work on the project includes finalizing the creek alignment, installing fencing, landscaping, and utility reconnections. Please visit the project page on Connect Sammamish for the latest updates.


    Beaver Lake Triathlon

    The Beaver Lake Triathlon will be held on Sunday, September 19. The race takes place from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

    There will be no road closures associated with the Triathlon. During the race there will be a flagger or police officer directing traffic at:

    • The roundabout at SE 32nd St and SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd next to Shoofly Farm.
    • The traffic signal at SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd and SE Duthie Hill Rd
    • The traffic signal at SE Duthie Hill Rd and 275th Ave SE

    Upcoming Fall Construction-related Traffic Impacts

    Lane closure on 228th Ave SE between SE 4th Street and Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd: Southbound curb lane to be closed 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM between September and November 2021 and may change pending further coordination with all parties. Comcast is installing new fiber optic cable for Issaquah School District’s new elementary school on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd at SE 44th Street. It is highly recommended to find an alternative route during this project’s construction.

    Lane closure on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd between 228th Ave SE and Issaquah-Fall City Rd. and SE 44th Street: Southbound lane closure from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM between September and November 2021 and may change pending further coordination with all parties.     Tree Trimming Delays and Caution While Driving

    Asplundh, a tree trimming sub-contractor for PSE, is currently trimming trees around poles and wires in the Sammamish. Asplundh will be doing work on 220th Ave SE and SE 4th St today. Work will occur for 3 hours between 7:00 AM -4:00 PM. More work will occur throughout the City for the next two weeks and will be included in the Cone Zone as more information is obtained. Please expect delays and use caution while driving through in the work areas.

    New Traffic Signal on Issaquah-Pine Lake Road and SE 44th Street

    The new traffic signal on Issaquah-Pine Lake Road and SE 44th Street is operational and serving Issaquah School District's Cedar Trails Elementary School.


    228th Avenue Curb Ramp Retrofit and Catch Basin Repairs

    The City of Sammamish’s contractor is entering substantial completion on the project with only push list items remaining. Only minimal roadway impacts are anticipated for the remainder of work. The project’s curb ramp work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Traffic closure hours have been tightened through the work zone to 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with traffic merged to one lane.


    Comcast Utility Work at NE 36th Street on East Lake Sammamish Parkway

    Comcast utility line work will take place from NE 36th Street vicinity along East Lake Sammamish Parkway NE to SE 4th Street on 228th Avenue SE (via Inglewood Hill Road NE). Comcast will commence this work within the next week.


    East Lake Sammamish Trail South Segment B Stage 1 Construction

    The King County East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) South Segment B Phase 1 continues with construction. There will be traffic impacts related to the closure of the gravel surface trail segment which causes the re-routing of cyclists and pedestrians to East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP). Additionally, there will be construction traffic on ELSP.

    • Project Start Point: Intersection of SE 33rd / East Lake Sammamish Shore Lane Drive SE
    • Project End Point: Approximately 900' south of the intersection of SE 8th Street / East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE


    Issaquah-Fall City Road

    Grass mowing by a new contractor is scheduled in the next couple weeks to clean up overgrown areas. PSE crews have a couple repair locations in sidewalks before those areas may be finished in concrete. Other incidental plantings are planned for October.

    This is a City of Issaquah project. Night work on Issaquah Highlands Drive will start Monday, September 13 and run for approximately three weeks. Work crews will complete the construction of a water main from 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m. During these working hours, one lane southbound will be open to traffic, and there is no impact to northbound traffic.

The closure allows for completion of the new water and sewer systems, installation of the box culvert, and rebuilding the road. Additional notifications and message boards are posted and a signed detour is in place. Drivers should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.

    Issaquah-Fall City Road

    Only minor work items remain, and utility work in a few areas. Lumen is raising a utility vault in the sidewalk near the Issaquah Montessori School and will install a temporary walkable surface in time for opening of school.

Impacted homes will be receiving calls from Republic on 8/23 and 8/30 as a reminder before pick-up. We ask homes that receive a call to please have your carts out by 6:00 a.m. on August 24 and 31.

Construction work involves constructing a new entrance, signal, and frontage improvements for ISD’s new elementary school #16 at SE 44th Street. Work will make it necessary to occasionally divert traffic around work zones however two lanes of traffic will be maintained. This is expected to last through September 2021.

    The City of Sammamish’s contractor has finished catch basin adjustment work and will be cleaning out catch basins in the corridor. On Thursday, 9/2, traffic signal loop installation work will happen in the westbound lanes of NE 8th St at the 228th Avenue NE. The electrical subcontractor is expected to continue push button/traffic signal work on 8/30, which will involve turning off traffic signals from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. on Mon and 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tues/Wed. Police Officers will be on site to direct traffic through the intersections. See schedule below.     Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) Work

    The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is installing new wires on the large power transmission towers located along their utility corridor in Sammamish. This work has already started and will be finished by August 27th. The impacted locations include:

    • Issaquah-Fall City Road just east of the intersection with Klahanie Drive SE;
    • The Klahanie Mountainview Pool (4280 Klahanie Drive SE);
    • Klahanie Park (25000 SE Klahanie Boulevard);
    • Beaver Lake Middle School (25025 SE 32nd Street);
    • SE 30th Street between 247th Avenue SE and 249th Avenue SE;
    • SE 28th Place, adjacent to and south of Beaver Lake Park; and
    • SE 24th Street between 245th Avenue SE and 246th Avenue SE.


    All of these areas will have traffic control with minor delays when wire is being pulled.

    Issaquah-Fall City Road

    Only minor work items remain, and utility work in a few areas. Lumen is raising a utility vault in the sidewalk near the Issaquah Montessori School and will install a temporary walkable surface in time for opening of school.

    Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project Construction

    Road Closure on East Lake Sammamish Parkway: Starting August 16th at 7:00 AM there will be a minimum 3-week closure of East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek (located approximately at 125 E Lake Samm Pkwy) for the Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project.

    In order to ensure the road closure and construction will be completed within the planned schedule, the City has granted the contractor permission for extended working hours beginning Monday, August 16th through Friday, September 3rd, 7am - 10pm.

    Local access north and south of the closure area will be maintained, however thru traffic will not be permitted. Bicyclists and pedestrians can use the East Lake Sammamish Regional Trail to detour around the closure. The closure will allow for completion of the new water and sewer systems and installation of the box culvert. Additional notifications and message boards will be posted and a signed detour will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.

    The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is installing new wires on the large power transmission towers located along their utility corridor in Sammamish. This work has already started and will be finished by August 27th. The impacted locations include:

    • Issaquah-Fall City Road just east of the intersection with Klahanie Drive SE;
    • The Klahanie Mountainview Pool (4280 Klahanie Drive SE);
    • Klahanie Park (25000 SE Klahanie Boulevard);
    • Beaver Lake Middle School (25025 SE 32nd Street);
    • SE 30th Street between 247th Avenue SE and 249th Avenue SE;
    • SE 28th Place, adjacent to and south of Beaver Lake Park; and
    • SE 24th Street between 245th Avenue SE and 246th Avenue SE.

    All of these areas will have traffic control with minor delays when wire is being pulled.

    228th Avenue Curb Ramp Retrofit and Catch Basin Repairs

    The City of Sammamish’s contractor will continue work on 228th Avenue to retrofit curb ramps, install concrete catch basin aprons and install irrigation sleeve crossings from SE 8th St to NE 8th St. The contractor will be patching around curb ramps and catch basins on Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, they will continue repairing manholes in the travel lanes. During the week of 8/23 the contractor is expected to begin push button/traffic signal work, which will involve turning off traffic signals. Police Officers will be on site to direct traffic through the intersections. The project’s curb ramp work is in preparation for the City resurfacing 228th Avenue in 2022 and benefits the City’s ADA Transition Plan goal of retrofitting all public facilities to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Typical lane closure hours through the work zone will be between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with traffic merged to one lane.

    On Friday, July 25th Puget Sound Energy will be working on a power pole, closing the southbound lane and alternating traffic through the work zone on Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd just north of the SE 32nd Way and the Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd roundabout. The closure will be from approximately 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM with traffic control through the work zone.

    Crosswalk Restriping

    King County will replace 21 existing crosswalks throughout Sammamish over the next week. While the thermoplastic striping typically cures in an hour or so, there may be short traffic delays.

    Issaquah-Fall City Road

    The closure between 247th Place SE and Klahanie Dr. SE opened on April 16, 2021. There are many people, businesses and organizations to thank and acknowledge.     • PSE will be adjusting gas valves through the project limits. Traffic will be directionally reduced to one lane through their work zone.

    This is a City of Issaquah project. Issaquah's Pavement Management Program (PMP) is scheduled to perform a crack seal maintenance treatment to Highlands Drive NE beginning Monday, July 19 at 8 p.m. and lasting for approximately 8 days. During the first week, work will be performed at night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Remaining work will occur during normal working hours.

    Traffic will remain open for at least one lane of travel in all directions while the work is being performed under lane adjustments, however delays may occur, and alternate routes are advised. Please view the project map(External link) for more details on location.

    Improvements at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SE 43rd Way Roundabout (City of Issaquah work)

    On Tuesday, July 20th, the contractor will be relocating a signal junction box at the intersection of NE 4th St and 228th Ave NE. This traffic signal will be turned off during the work and a uniformed police office will direct traffic through the intersection. The signal is expected to be off from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

    East Lake Sammamish Trail South Segment B Stage 1 Construction

    The King County East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) South Segment B Phase 1 continues with construction. There will be traffic impacts related to the closure of the gravel surface trail segment which causes the re-routing of cyclists and pedestrians to East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP). Additionally, there will be construction traffic on ELSP.

    • Project Start Point: Intersection of SE 33rd / East Lake Sammamish Shore Lane Drive SE
    • Project End Point: Approximately 900' south of the intersection of SE 8th Street / East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE

    Ebright Creek Fish Passage Project Construction

    Utility relocation is on-going. Comcast and Ziply will be allowed to work on East Lake Sammamish Parkway between 3:30 to 8:00 PM during the upcoming weeks. The City’s contractor started installing erosion control and will be working on the sewer and water bypass and relocation. Most of the work is anticipated to be complete by October 2021. During construction, drivers can expect intermittent lane closures. Starting around late August there will be up to a 3 week closure of East Lake Sammamish Parkway at Ebright Creek to allow for installation of the box culvert. Additional notifications, message boards, and signs will be posted to detour traffic around the closure. Please visit the project page on Connect Sammamish to learn more.

    Issaquah-Fall City Road

    The closure between 247th Place SE and Klahanie Dr. SE opened on April 16, 2021. There are many people, businesses and organizations to thank and acknowledge. Take a look at the ceremonial ribbon cutting video(External link) with community acknowledgements. *Safety Reminder – Please observe the contractor’s “Sidewalk Closed” and “No Trespassing” signs at all times.

    • The Contractor returned on June 15th to begin the excavation for the stream mitigation work. Stream work will continue for the next few weeks. Limited traffic delays are anticipated.
    • PSE will be adjusting gas valves through the project limits. Traffic will be directionally reduced to one lane through their work zone.

    Notices for construction activity outside of the City of Sammamish:

    Highlands Drive NE (City of Issaquah work)

    This is a City of Issaquah project. Issaquah's Pavement Management Program (PMP) is scheduled to perform a crack seal maintenance treatment to Highlands Drive NE beginning Monday, July 19 at 8 p.m. and lasting for approximately 8 days. During the first week, work will be performed at night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Remaining work will occur during normal working hours.

    Traffic will remain open for at least one lane of travel in all directions while the work is being performed under lane adjustments, however delays may occur, and alternate routes are advised. Please view the project map for more details on location.

    Improvements at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SE 43rd Way Roundabout (City of Issaquah work)

    This is a City of Issaquah project. The City of Issaquah is planning summer road improvements work at East Lake Sammamish Parkway and SE 43rd Way Roundabout. The project intends to improve safety for all road users, increase visibility, and facilitate pedestrian movement at the intersection. More information will be posted as we receive it.
