What is a Unified Development Code?

A unified development code combines the various development related code sections in the Sammamish Municipal Code into a single title including zoning and subdivision standards. Unified development codes are typically easier to administer and interpret for the both the City and the public.

How can the public stay involved in the project and provide input?

Meetings will be held with the Planning Commission and City Council that will provide opportunities to learn more about the project and provide public input. A public engagement event, likely to be held virtually due to COVID meeting restrictions, is anticipated in the Spring of 2021 and will be noticed on the City’s website. Public hearings will be held in later summer or early fall of 2021 as part of the adoption process. See the project schedule below for more information.
